On September 6, 2024, Bishop Bryan Bayda, the Eparch of Toronto and Eastern Canada, together with the pastor of St. Nicholas Parish, Father Roman Lobay, visited Patriarch Josyf Slipyj School for the solemn start of the new school year. During the visit, the bishop and the priest, accompanied by the singing of teachers and children, served a Moleben for the successful beginning of the academic year.
In his sermon, Bishop Bryan emphasized the importance of faith and love in the lives of the younger generation. He encouraged the students to build their relationships with others based on love and mercy, highlighting that it is through God’s love, expressed in love for one’s neighbor, that we draw closer to God. The bishop also urged the children to find spiritual support in their studies and daily lives, as love for God and neighbor is the foundation of true happiness.
After the Moleben, Bishop Bryan blessed the students, wishing them wisdom, strength, and inspiration in their pursuit of knowledge. The students and faculty of the school gratefully received these words, expressing sincere thanks for the support and spiritual guidance. The next day, on September 7, at the Saturday school, Father Roman Lobay, along with Deacon Volodymyr-Bohdan Lechman, served a Moleben for the successful start of the academic year.
